Rengit Ready For The Mall?...

At the time this blogpost was being typed... Rengit there are only a few supermarkets such as Eng Hiap Seng, Selesa Supermarket, 99Speedmart (Taman Pandan Jaya 1 & Jambi), Ino (Sungai Dulang) & Ito Maju (Perpat).

The largest supermarket in Rengit is Eng Hiap Seng Supermarket and is located in downtown Rengit. Eng Hiap Seng Supermarket started operating in 1999 and the supermarket is over 20 years old.

Looking at the growing Rengit population and even the growing purchasing power... even the number of supermarkets is increasing for the Rengit Subdistrict... plus the first and largest supermarket in Rengit is over 20 years old... in view author of this blog... it is time for Rengit town to have the first mall in this town and subdistrict so that Rengit residents and those close to them such as Benut & Senggarang do not have to go to malls in Batu Pahat (Penggaram), Pontian (Pontian) Kechil), Kluang (Mengkibol), Kulai town, Johor Bahru city (Tanjung Puteri), Skudai town, Iskandar Puteri city (Medini Iskandar), Pasir Gudang city, Simpang Renggam town, Parit Raja town, Yong Peng town and so on to get out shopping or just hanging out at the mall alone, with family or friends.

At the time this blogpost was typed... blog authors heard rumors that Econsave hypermarket will open their branch in Rengit in a new business area near Wisma Pengakap Rengit / SMK Tun Sardon.

Econsave hypermarket is not a retail place that can be considered a real mall but as a test market... it can be considered an attempt to see how far Rengit is ready for a real mall.

For Rengit area... malls do not need to be as big as the malls in Batu Pahat (The Summit, Wira Court, Square One & Batu Pahat Mall). The author of this blog once visited a mall in the town of Pontian Kechil which is Plaza Pontian. In the opinion of the author of this blog... Rengit area can have such a mall size or just 70% - 80% of the size of the Plaza Pontian mall.

Although the size of the mall is small but there can still be important services and brands such as fast food restaurants, family entertainment centers (family karaoke, cinemas, game arcades and so on), fashion boutiques and many more.

Is Rengit ready for the mall?...

Rengit subdistrict does not have a mall like in Batu Pahat (Penggaram) but there are several supermarkets operating in Rengit for residents of Rengit subdistrict to shop.

Among the supermarkets is Eng Hiap Seng supermarket located in the middle of Rengit town center.

Unlike other retail supermarkets in the Rengit subdistrict area... this supermarket not only sells daily necessities based on food & beverages (F&B) but also sells clothing, shoes, toys, stationery, souvenirs and and so on.

At the time this blogpost was being typed... this supermarket is the largest supermarket in the subdistrict of Rengit.

This supermarket started operating in 1999 and at the time this blogpost was being typed... the age of this supermarket is over 20 years.

Unlike other supermarkets in the subdistrict of Rengit... Sakan supermarket does not sell daily necessities such as rice, chicken, vegetables, fruits and other grocery items.

Sakan supermarket can be likened to a "Departmental Store" that sells something that is not related to "Food & Beverages (F&B)" such as clothes, mats, jugs, cups and other related items.

Sakan Supermarket is located in the heart of Rengit town center... close to Eng Hiap Seng grocery supermarket and also close to Homestay Cafe Sarang Tempua.

Apart from Eng Hiap Seng supermarket... the retail supermarket in the middle of Rengit town center is Pasarneka Selesa.

The grocery store is located near the Rengit main road and close to the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) fast food restaurant, the 7-Eleven 24-hour convenience store and Mr. DIY.

There are several supermarkets in the subdistrict of Rengit... among them the Inno supermarket located in Taman Rengit Indah, Sungai Dulang.

This retail supermarket is the choice of the residents of Sungai Dulang and the area adjacent to it to spend on daily necessities because it is near and complete.

This supermarket is also located next to the office of the National Registration Department (JPN) Rengit branch.

Will SKF Developers Build SKF Plaza In Rengit?...

For some Rengit residents... they may know SKF company. SKF is a property development company based in Simpang Renggam, Kluang, Johor.

Many residential areas in Rengit were built by this company.

As the well-known BCB property developer company based in Kluang has built many residential areas in the city of Kluang (Mengkibol) and subsequently built the BCB Plaza in the center of Kluang city center (Mengkibol)... the author of this blog thinks that the property developer company SKF should consider building a small mall such as the size of the Pontian Plaza or 70% to 80% of the original size of the Pontian Plaza.

The mall can be named as SKF Rengit Plaza or may be known as SKF Mall Rengit. Although the size of the mall may be a little smaller than most malls in Malaysia... but... there can still be shops, brands, appropriate services can be held at the mall such as fast food restaurants, clothing boutiques , family karaoke center, game arcade, cinema and more.

In the opinion of the author of this blog... Rengit has the potential to have a mall one day in the future. This is because the city of Batu Pahat (Penggaram) already have 3 malls, namely The Summit, Square One and Batu Pahat Mall (BP Mall).

As the main economic urbanization city and also the Batu Pahat district administration... Batu Pahat city (Penggaram) already have 3 malls. Among the important towns located in this district are Yong Peng, Parit Raja & Rengit. These 3 towns have the potential to have a mall as the city of Batu Pahat (Penggaram) already have 3 malls and the number is expected to increase in the future.

Therefore... in the opinion of the author of this blog... Rengit has the potential to have a small mall and what the author of this blog can see is the real estate developer SKF has the potential to build and operate such a small mall in Rengit.

I hope this becomes a reality one day in the future.

Target Supermarket is a retail supermarket based in Simpang Renggam, Kluang, Johor. Among the several branches of Target supermarket that the author of this blog knows besides Simpang Renggam are Benut, Ayer Hitam, Parit Raja & Batu Pahat city (Penggaram).

What is interesting to the author of this blog about the advantages of Target supermarket compared to Eng Hiap Seng supermarket is that customers can choose to pay using credit / debit cards. For some or perhaps many customers think this will make their shopping easier because they do not have to queue at ATM machines to withdraw their money for shopping at the supermarket.

In the opinion of the author of this blog... if Target supermarket is based in Rengit... this will give fierce competition to Eng Hiap Seng supermarket even though competitors to Eng Hiap Seng supermarket in Rengit already exist like 99Speedmart, Selesa supermarket, Ino supermarket, & Ito Maju supermarket.

The author of this blog believes and is confident that the presence of Target supermarket in Rengit can break the monopoly of Eng Hiap Seng supermarket.

I hope this becomes a reality in the future.

Econsave Hypermarket Will Be Settled In Rengit?...

At the time this blogpost was being typed... the biggest supermarket available in Rengit was just Eng Hiap Seng supermarket. As far as this blogpost is being typed... there is still no mall in Rengit town.

But what is interesting at the moment... there are rumors that say that Econsave hypermarket will be established and built in a new business area that is heading towards the construction process near Wisma Pengakap Rengit and SMK Tun Sardon.

However... these rumors are just rumors because no statement was issued by Econsave itself.

Anyway... the author of this blog welcomes the arrival of Econsave to set foot in Rengit.

May it come true in the future.

At the time this blogpost was being typed... the towns in this district where Ninso supermarket is located are Batu Pahat (Penggaram) and Parit Raja. The author of the blog is still not sure whether Yong Peng has established a Ninso supermarket or vice versa, but what is certain is that Rengit still does not have a Ninso supermarket.

Meanwhile, the Eco supermarket is only based in Batu Pahat (Penggaam).

In the opinion of the author of this blog... Rengit has the potential for the establishment of Ninso supermarket and Eco supermarket.

The author of this blog likes to shop in these two supermarkets because the prices of goods in these two supermarkets can be considered attractive and competitive.

I hope the establishment of Ninso and Eco supermarkets in Rengit will become a reality one day.
