The main industrial center for Batu Pahat district is located in Sri Gading and also Banang area. Although this subdistrict of Rengit is better known as the agricultural district and oil palm district... but... the subdistrict of Rengit also has its own industrial area.
The industrial area is located in the southern part of the subdistrict of Rengit bordering Pontian district.
At the time this blogpost was being typed... the industrial area only had one factory and the factory was JK Wire. This factory manufactures electronic components. At the time this blogpost was being typed... this factory is in the expansion phase with a new factory complex under construction. The newly built factory does not replace the existing factory but more to the addition of the new factory and the factory is also just across the road in the southern area of the subdistrict of Rengit bordering Pontian district.
When the construction of this new factory is completed... JK Wire will open more employment opportunities to locals in the subdistrict of Rengit and even the area around it.
Chairman of the Johor Housing & Local Government Committee (Exco) who is also a member of the Rengit state assembly... Honorable (YB) Tuan Haji Ayub bin Tuan Haji Jamil once stated that he wanted to make the area south of the Rengit subdistrict bordering Pontian district as the Rengit Industrial Zone and will make every effort to bring in more manufacturing companies to invest and establish a foothold in the industrial zone to further boost the Rengit economy.
Meanwhile and for now... JK Wire will be the catalyst for the industrial zone.
p / s: if the federal and state governments can convince Apple Inc to invest and establish itself in Malaysia by opening their factory in this country ... hopefully the Apple Inc factory can be built in the Rengit Industrial Zone ... hehehe ...
