The main urbanization center of the parish is located at Pekan Punggur while the main administrative center of the parish is located at Perpat.
This parish is located in the Rengit State Assembly (DUN) and Batu Pahat Parliamentary constituencies represented by the Honorable (YB) Tuan Haji Ayub bin Haji Jamil (State Assemblyman, ADUN - Rengit) and the Honorable (YB) Datuk Rashid bin Hasnon (Batu Pahat Member of Parliament).
The Honorable (YB) Tuan Haji Ayub bin Tuan Haji Jamil at the time of this blog was typed is the Committee Chairman (Exco) of the Housing and Local Government of Johor while the Honorable (YB) Datuk Rashid bin Hasnon is the Deputy Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament.

Although Punggur Town is a small town, its role as urbanization center and economy is still more important in this parish than in other areas. Although there is an area of residential estate near Punggur Town... however, it does not have a Head of Village nor does the Chairman of the Residents Association. This residential estate shares a Head of Village with the Punggur Town area.
